For children, it's quick and painless. For parents, it offers peace of mind and a potentially valuable identification tool. The child bites into a softened wafer for less than a minute and the wafer retains a dental imprint. The remaining saliva on the wafer contains the DNA and scent after which the wafer is stored in an identification bag.
